Your Favorite Fall Drinks...But Better
Publicado por ANNA MCKELVEY en
‘Tis the season for pumpkin spice, salted caramel drizzle, and all of the other fall flavors our bodies seem to crave this time of year. When the mood strikes for a sweet coffee treat, we like to remind ourselves that this is just another avenue to provide our bodies with the electrolytes and minerals that we need.
Our team loves turning any fall beverage into an electrolyte-loaded drink that serves our overall hydration all while satisfying our need for that cinnamon sprinkle on top. Whether it’s mixing together our favorite creamers and iced coffee, whipping up a quick cold-foam, or steaming our milk to perfection, you can count on all of us sneaking in a capful (or two) of our concentrated electrolytes. Overall we find it adds the perfect balance of flavors, especially when we have sweet syrups on our hands.
And we should mention that there are major benefits of consuming dairy with Lyte Balance! The calcium and protein found in dairy products completes the full circle of electrolytes increasing your body’s absorption of these key nutrients all while you sip on your warm bev. What better way to give yourself exactly what you need!
Here are three of our most favorite ways to incorporate Lyte Balance into this fall-drink season.
One — Pumpkin Vanilla Iced Coffee
A classic made easy with ingredients right from your grocery aisle. This is the perfect go-to combination for your morning coffee-walking-out-the-door!
Ingredients:
2 cups of your favorite iced coffee
2 tbs. Pumpkin spice creamer
1 tbs. Vanilla syrup
1 capful of Lyte Balance
This recipe couldn’t be easier. Start off with a tall glass of ice and pour in your ingredients. Mix it up, and feel free to top it off with some whipped cream if you’re feeling fancy. If you’re feeling even fancier, finish with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.
Two — Warm Spiced Apple Cider
Who doesn’t love a hot cup of cider on a crisp fall day? We absolutely do, and this is our go-to recipe for the days when we want our kitchens to smell as good as the air outside.
Ingredients:
8 cups apple cider
3 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole cloves
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
1 orange peel (trimmed of white pith)
To make: Place all ingredients into a large pot except for your Lyte Balance (we’ll save this for the end!). Cover and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Once at a simmer, reduce your heat to low and let steep for at least 60 minutes and up to three hours.
After simmering, skim off your whole ingredients. Right before you serve, add 4 capfuls of Lyte Balance to your pot and stir to combine. Serve with additional cinnamon sticks, oranges, or sliced apples as garnish.
Three — Salted Caramel Cold Foam
We won’t lie, you might be addicted to putting this foam on top of every drink once you make it for the first time. The salty flavor comes into play by mixing in our concentrated electrolytes, no salt here! For this recipe, you will batch-mix the ingredients ahead of time. We like storing our mixtures in mason jars until ready to use.
Ingredients:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup 2% milk
¼ cup caramel syrup
4 capfuls Lyte Balance
To make: Place all of your ingredients into an airtight container and shake to mix. Keep this mixture refrigerated until ready to use. When ready, place ½ cup of your sweet cream mixture into any blender and whip for about 5-10 seconds until thick and creamy. That’s it!! Use your salted caramel cold foam to top your favorite fall beverages (it’s even good with black coffee!).
